Emails on Websites
If you have your email address on your website, I suspect you are getting a lot more spam (junk email) than you used to.It's a result of email address harvesting.
Do a Google search for "email harvesting software" and you get 4,040 results (forget the quotes and you get hundreds of thousands).
This is software that takes a website or search term and follows all the links on that page, looking for text that looks like email addresses (e.g. something followed by the at symbol @ followed by a domain). That's the bad news.
Worse, you want your email address available to your website visitors so they can contact you.
One option is to "hide" the address in plain site (e.g. gmarshall [at] repconnection.com).
Another option is to use a neat script I found. Iits free and doesn't require much technical knowledge. You do need to be able to edit the HTML for your web page to insert the code. This website will automatically generate your script for you.
