Great Netbook Deal

About 30 days ago I got an Acer Aspire One "netbook"

Ever since I've gotten a lot of comments whenever I've used it in public.

It is one of the two more/less standard configurations--Intel Atom processor (single core), 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, Windows XP with an 8.9" screen.

I've found it works really well while I'm traveling.  The keyboard is fine for typing from my point of view (I do touch type).  The screen at 1024 x 600 is a little "short" on the vertical size but I'm getting used to it.

What really makes it a great travel notebook is the 6 cell battery, which gives it about 5-6 hours of use, even with Wifi on.  If I close the lid (putting it in standby) when I'm not using it, for all practical purposes is it lasts all day without charging.  I'm at a conference right now and appreciate being able to do email, surf the web, and write this while listening to the speaker (placing new pressure on speakers to engage the audience or lose them to email) without having to lug a power brick around (or find a place to plug it in, although this conference had done a great job of putting power at the seats).

So what pops up on one of my "deal" websites is a similar netbook, but with a 10" screen for only $350 at BestBuy.  The MSI Wind has been getting good reviews.  The only "negative" for this configuration I see is its a 3 cell battery meaning 2-3 hours use.  But that's what I used to get from my older notebooks, so it should work for lots of people.

Did I mention these netbooks weigh less than 3 pounds?
